Hello!

I'm new here, and this is my first post.

My primary reader is a Kindle Paperwhite Signature edition, which I use to read prose novels, pulp magazines, and most manga.

My secondary reader is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+, which I use for American comics through the Marvel and DC apps and CDisplay.

I did get a Kindle Scribe, but returned it. The reading experience was less pleasant for novels than my Paperwhite, and less pleasant for comics than my tablet, so I found myself not using it after a few days. I returned it for Amazon credit and now have enough credit to pay for all my books for the rest of the year, at least.

I'm off for the summer, so I've been reading a lot. My favorite books this summer have been The Only One Left by Riley Sager, The Last Word by Taylor Adams, and A Kiss Before Dying by Ira Levin. My most disappointing book this summer has been Eileen, by Otessa Moshfegh. Given how highly praised Eileen is, I can only assume that it's just not for me, that I'm not seeing something that, say, the Booker Prize people did.

I've had one DNF this summer - Death Watch, which is about an advertising agency hired to promote a watch that can kill the person wearing it. It wasn't terrible, I just didn't care about any of the characters and if I'm not hooked after roughly the first 100 pages, I'm out. At 100 pages, the ad agency had just begun discussing how they were going to advertise the watch.

I'm currently halfway through Last House on Needless Street by Catriona Ward. It's been OK. I'm reserving judgment until I finish.

Now THAT is a good introduction, in a forum called - strangely enough - Introduce Yourself.
Thank you, gmitchell, for making my day!
