Possible to import covers from images files on local computer

Hi!

Say I have a folder of book covers saved as jpg/png files, with the files named with a unique identifier - say ISBN or Librarything ID. Is it possible to import and apply those covers to entries in Calibre with the matching identifier? I looked through the exisiting plug ins, but didn't find anything that looks like it would do that. Thanks!

If you know how to script you can use the calibredb command to do it.

How many are you talking about? As Kovid says, you can script it using calibredb if you have the skills. Or you could apply them manually via the GUI if you have a reasonably small number. It might be quicker than getting the script right, and probably less potentially disastrous.

After all, what coder hasn't done a Sorcerer's Apprentice when writing a script to automatically manipulate a data store? (Which is why I take backups first, or create a destructible library to test against.)
