Hello!

Hello! I am the owner of 3 legacy e-readers, 2 Kindle Keyboards and a DX.

I love my Keyboard and absolutely do not want to upgrade even though a backlight *would* be nice.

The DX has been ignored for the past 7 years or so but I just put a new battery in it and it's as good as new.

Hello and welcome to MobileRead!

I'm curious, why wouldn't you want to upgrade? The modern ereaders are faster, lighter, with better screens; overall, the reading experience is much better IMO. (I still have a couple of my old ereaders and I take them out to compare sometimes; no way would I want to go back to them).

Partially it's because I am resistant to change and comfortable with what I know.

While the DX is a chonky one, the Keyboard is pretty light. I have arthritis in my hands and small and light keeps them happy. It's also very portable - I can slip it in my purse.

I also want physical page buttons. Not a lot of readers these days have those. The ones that do aren't as small as I'd like.

I'm not saying I couldn't be swayed, especially if someone offered me a magical unicorn 6", physical page button WITH a backlight e-reader! But for now I'm happy with what I've got and not looking to upgrade.

Well, Kindle Oasis and Kobo Libra 2 both have physical buttons and weigh less than Kindle Keyboard. True, they're a bit wider (and shorter), so I'm not sure they'd fit in your purse.

BTW, I'm with you re the buttons. I'd never buy an ereader without them.
