Monitor CPU load

Hello,
what is a working way to monitor the system load on a jailbroken kindle?
When I ssh into the device and run top I only get

'xterm-256color': unknown terminal type.

Any pointers?

uptime

[root@kindle root]# uptime
09:04:33 up 8 days, 20:36, load average: 0.17, 0.36, 0.32

USBNet bundles htop, FWIW.

You might want to detail what kind of terminal emulator you were attempting to use, because anything even remotely sane should be xterm-256c compatible...

Changing env variable

export TERM=linux

is working to use top.

Uptime is nice but I need something more live.

Of course... htop
