Where can I download zip tool for Kindle

I need to compress some files into ZIP format on Kindle, but Kindle doesn't have a zip tool. I searched the entire internet but couldn't find a precompiled one. However, I found the source code for zip at https://downloads.sourceforge.net/infozip/zip30.tar.gz.

I'm not sure if there is a precompiled zip available on mobileread?

Or, is there anyone kind enough to help me compile one?

If you can find the debian armel release that corresponds to the kernel version on your kindle, you can get it from there.

But why not make a tar.gz instead of a zip?

Have a look at NiLuJe’s Snapshots thread. USBNetwrk has a bunch of compiled things, maybe zip is one of them. Also, NiLuJe posted cross chain tools for Kindle in the same thread, worth giving a shot.

Nope, and busybox doesn't ship a zip implementation, only unzip.

Your best bet is either to cross-compile it yourself (either zip or p7zip), *or* rely on Python do to the job.
