Where can I download zip tool for Kindle
I need to compress some files into ZIP format on Kindle, but Kindle doesn't have a zip tool. I searched the entire internet but couldn't find a precompiled one. However, I found the source code for zip at https://downloads.sourceforge.net/infozip/zip30.tar.gz.
I'm not sure if there is a precompiled zip available on mobileread? Or, is there anyone kind enough to help me compile one? Thanks in advance! Last edited by cdhigh; 06-30-2023 at 09:06 AM. Reason: incomplete title |

If you can find the debian armel release that corresponds to the kernel version on your kindle, you can get it from there.
But why not make a tar.gz instead of a zip? |

Have a look at NiLuJe’s Snapshots thread. USBNetwrk has a bunch of compiled things, maybe zip is one of them. Also, NiLuJe posted cross chain tools for Kindle in the same thread, worth giving a shot.

Nope, and busybox doesn't ship a zip implementation, only unzip.
Your best bet is either to cross-compile it yourself (either zip or p7zip), *or* rely on Python do to the job. |

I give up, it's a bit troublesome, forget it.
Thanks anyway. |
