K3 :help: Unable to jailbreak kindle 3g with firmware 4.3.4

I tried to jailbreak my kindle keyboard with 3g (sl no B006 AOAO with firmware 3.4.3) with the below file from Link:

Update_jailbreak_0.13.N_k3g-3.0-to-3.2_install.bin

i renamed the file to make it shorter and then selected the update option in settings; then it tried to update but immediately failed and then it restarted..



i also tried to JB using https://yifan.lu/p/kindle-jailbreak/. after i put bin the file in root folder i had to restart kindle to update it.. while updating it failed and i got got an error 3..

can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong?

You'll have to check the syslogs (;dm in the search bar), but that usually means your device is not stock, and a previous modification is interfering.

i think the kindle was jailbroken before.. and then kindle was updated. now its firmware is 3.4.3..

1. what do i need to search in the logs? it is huge
2. what should i do now? i dont know which firmware it was jailbroken in.

1. Check for ota stuff right after a failed JB install.
2. You'll need to uninstall the *exact* stuff that was installed to be able to install a clean JB.

That may be easier said than done, so, one other way would simply be to Kubrick it.

Thank you for giving the Kubrik option.. I was able to use kubrik and reset the firmware to 4.3. then i did the following

1. manually jailbroke the kindle by placing the "Update_jailbreak_0.13.N_k3g_install.bin" in root and clicking on update kindle
2. installed the Mobileread Kindlet Kit by placing the file in root and clicking on update kindle
3. installed the KAUL by moving the KUAL-KDK-1.0.azw2 into document folder 4. added the following extensions
1. Helper
2. battery status
3. GNU Awk Installer
4. KUAL+
4. when i tried to install new fonts by adding the Fonts Hack file in root folder and clicking on update kindle. It Failed.. the instructions for installing the FONTS and SCREENSAVER are not very clear. Please let me know how to install them..

In addition to this i had a few queries regarding the jailbreak

1. can I go online now if i have set Stop OTA in KAUL/helper
2. is there anywhere in kindle that shows that the jailbreak that i have installed is properly working?
3. can i link my Kindle account to the kindle or will it be blocked by amazon?
4. is there a way to launch KAUL or some collection manager when the kindle is unlocked
5. what are the apps to read epub/pdf and cbz (KOreader/mangle??). Also is there a good collection interface for viewing the books stored
6. are there any other apps I need install. I mainly use the kindle to read books(epub/amazon) and manga(cbz)
