Screenshots on Kobos?
I'm pretty sure I used to be able to take screenshots on the Kobo. I tried one today after editing the eReader.config file and there was no effect when I set [Features Settings] to Screenshots=true. Has this been moved to Developer options or are screenshots just gone in Kobos?
Sorry if this question has been answered, but I haven't seen anything recent on this and this is the first time I wanted to use this feature in a while. Thanks for any information. |

Are you using [Feature Settings]? It should be [FeatureSettings] with no space.
Code:
[FeatureSettings] ExcludeSyncFolders=\\.(?!kobo|adobe).*? IgnoreCaptivePortal=true Screenshots=true |

Yep. Works fine. I accidentally took about five screenshots after getting the setting right. I guess I expected a "blink" or something. There was a "%20" in the space between Feature and Settings. Hope I remember this next time. Thanks. |

It's better to use NickelMenu. I have it set to be able to toggle screenshots on and off. No having to edit the config file.

I take screenshots so rarely that changing the config file back and forth is not a big deal... so long as I read the instructions and actually follow them.

I concur, but if he’s only using it once in a blue moon, tweaking the config is a simpler solution. I don’t mind complex, though. After I take my screenshot, I FTP into my Kobo on my iPhone and download the screenshots to my camera roll. 🤓 |

Actually, tweaking the config is a more difficult solution then NickelMenu even if it's only done once in a blue moon. I don't take screen caps all that often, but it's a lot easier to do so using NickelMenu.

I don't load extra stuff on my eReaders. I don't even patch the Kobos anymore. I like to keep things simple.

If you use NickelMenu, you can also add entries to power off and restart your Kobo.
IF Screenshots=false is in your config file, it should have no effect on using the power button to put your Kobo to sleep or powering off. |

Also, if you use NickelMenu, you can reconnect to the USB to update the metadata (with calibre) without the need to unplug/replug the USB cable
