local HTML files (reading progress, add info for database)
Recently I am using a lot of html files that I generate on my mobile devices to read on the Kobo.
While generally the experience is quite nice (base64 encoded images, yeah) I am missing some functionality from other file types: 1. Reading progress: the reading progress is either 'unread' or '1% Read'. Happens with or without base encoded images (they bloat the html code, but that doesn't seem to mess up the calculation.) 2. Is it possible to add author/title to the header or elsewhere in the html file to be found by the internal database scraper? Thanks! Last edited by tentakel; 06-06-2023 at 06:57 AM. Reason: Clarity |

You could package the HTML files as an EPUB in order to get things like reading progress to work, but that requires significantly more effort.

Thanks for the input! I was looking into that (JavaScript to generate XHTML on IOS) as well, unfortunately I did not succeed.
