compare side by side

I recal seeing that a feature to compare two books side-by-side (for text) was a newer feature in a previous release. Am I wrong? If it is available, how do I access it? I would like to compare two editions to see the differences and am not interested in coverting them to text and using beyond compare.

It's in the calibre ebook-editor, last item in the File menu.

you can also right-click an ORIGINAL_EPUB to compare to EPUB

If all you are interested in comparing is the test, you can do so using the Text Diff plugin.

The thing is that sometimes an eBook can name have much or any changes to the text but have changes to the code. Comparing using calibre compares everything.

Makes me think a tabbed viewer would be great. Browsers have such. Now many other apps. Why not the viewer? Multiple windows, drag to separate or merge tabs, etc., same as a browser.

Thanks! I was just hoping that it would be possible to open multiple books at once. Not going into a bunch of plugins. I'll look at text diff though.

You can open 2 instances of the viewer by default. All yo need is screen area

I was the one that requested the ability to reuse the existing viewer window (I was spot checking).
