Axim mp3 problem
I've been again toying with the Axim x30 that is collecting dust near my desk at work. I have found a curious bug and I wonder if any Mobilereaders can duplicate it for me. Here's the chain of events:
(There is also a thread on the same subject at Aximsite, but unfortunately, I have not had much in the way of helpful response.) |

Axim X30 mp3 problem
I too have an Axim X30 and also updated the ROM today. I use MortPlayer for audio (unbelievable flexibility). Just FYI ...
http://mort.sto-helit.de/index.html I repeated your above steps without problem in both Mortplayer and the new media player 10 which comes with the Axim ROM update now available. No problems; the paused file resumed perfectly upon pressing the play button in both applications. So your problem may be just your unit. I'm attaching two screenshots from Mortplayer: one showing the main interface (my own skin but there are others on the site), and a second showing one of the options screens to make the player always resume at the file AND THE POINT IN THE FILE where the player was when it was closed. I allows bookmarking of where you are in a file too. So there are actually two ways to return to the point in the file where you were: i) just turn the player off, and whenever your return, there you are; or ii) bookmarks. Good luck, steinm |

Thanks for the input. I find it hard to imagine that it's the device, but I begin to suspect the SD cards. I tried formatting one in the PPC (they had all been formatted on the Palm) to see if that made any difference, but it did not. All of my SD cards are Kingston 256 megs, so if there is a brand specific problem I will not be able to solve it. I'm not sure where I can get my hands on another card, but I'll keep my eyes open.
I left the PPC at work this weekend, so I will not be able to do any further testing until Monday. Can anyone else chip in here? |

igantz, I had problems with sd cards before, until I formatted it using "FAT32 with backup table". Though I too find it difficult to believe that your problem is related to the card.

I'm using a Lexar 1GB high speed SD card (32X), just FYI. Happy so far.
