Kindle feature that would be nice

While the gnashing of teeth continues over at /kindle reddit I figure I would post this here.

A feature I would like is the ability to update Goodreads percentage compete for the current book I am reading. Going to the website occasionally to update it is a pain.

I'd rather have the ability to remove all Goodread's connections.

I haven't linked my Kindle and Goodreads accounts. Amazon's got plenty of data on me as it is; why make a gift to them of consolidating it? And it's not as if they use any of it to my benefit, e.g., to make recommendations that actually fit my interests instead of paid promotions.

If you have connected Kindle to Goodreads, you can do this. Go to Settings, Your Account, Social Networks.

To share reading status, Share option is in triple dot menu.

I have done that and it is my understanding that it sets the currently reading/read flags but does not change the percentage read unfortunately.

But when you use Share, it shows % complete. Are you saying that doesn't update Goodreads %? It does for me (I just verified it). You do not need to add any comments.

Of course this only works for purchased content.

A better library organization.
An option to have a big thumbnail, but also display the title/author at the bottom.

You can do it from your Kindle, if you have purchesed books.

Some nice features would be user customizable left/right margins and line-height So they can be smaller then the smallest settings.

I'd want Kindles to have the same software as Kobos, period. With the same customization options, patching options, editing the config file options, Calibre integration and so on. As to Goodreads, Send-to-Kindle, Whispersync and other Amazon-exclusive features, I couldn't care less about them. I almost never used them even when I still read only on Kindles.

Of course that isn't going to happen, and I know perfectly well that most Kindle owners don't share my opinion.

Oh and another thing the Kindle should have is kerning, ligatures, and hyphenation for KF8.

Most Kindle owners probably don't know how much of a better reading experience they can have.

An integrated Goodreads update feature on Kindle would be so handy. It would not only save time but also create a seamless reading experience. Imagine your progress being automatically updated as you turn the pages.
That's something I'd love to see in future updates.
