Font styles show for paragraph tags but not lists

Hi, I'm not sure where to post this so please redirect me if necessary. I'm trying to fix an epub on SIGIL where the font family (a system font) does not display consistently throughout my epub on my specific epub reader (Vitalsource). For example, it'll only show for main paragraph tags like <p class="maintext"> but not for list tags <li class="listtext">. Under both I have declared the exact same font-family (a system font).

It shows fine on Sigil, but not on the reader I'm using (Vitalsource). On VS, the font style works for the main body, but on the lists, it reverts to my back up font family (sans serif). How do I fix this?

That would suggest it is a VitalSource reading app issue and not an issue with Sigil.

Since you are trying to use a system font, from what I've seen, for most reading apps, you would need to enable using that font in it's configuration dialog. Using font's external to an epub can be a pain and, in my experience, results in an epub that is not usable on multiple systems.

I see, thank you! I had tried embedding the font itself into the epub (just having the font file in the font folder, declared in the manifest, etc.), but it didn't fix the issue either..

It's just confusing to me because VS reads the font fine when it's in the main body (<p>) but when it comes to lists <ol><li> it just stops reading it. I thought since it reads it in one code but not in another, its not an issue of the app not reading/supporting the font.

The reading app may be hardcoded to use a different font for lists.
