Did something change in EPUB to EPUB conversions?
About 8 months ago I discovered that doing EPUB to EPUB conversions would substantially reduce the size of many (not all) ebooks. I'm talking 50% to 90% size reduction. For example, a 10 MB ebook reduced to 980 KB.

In the last month or two (maybe starting around version 6.14?) this size reduction no longer happens.

Did something change in the defaults for this conversion? As far as I know, I never changed anything in the settings, although it is certainly possible.

Suggestions for what I may have done to cause the reduction or loss thereof?

EPUB output no longer resizes images by default. Use the option under the EPUB output section of the conversion dialog.

I always selected Tablet or similar so as to never resize images as soon as I realised what the options did, so I've not been affected.

Thanks Kovid, I'll check that out (but I could swear books without images were being reduced substantially too). Appreciate your fast responses...

Almost all books have a cover image. That can be larger than the compressed text in many cases.
