Author name displays first name only

Everything looks great with my e-book created with Sigil, except for one thing: when I import the book into the Kindle app on my iPad and display the book in landscape orientation (2- page view) the author name appearing on the top of the left page is only showing my first name. In the meta data, I have entered "Rene D. Young" in the "Creator" field, with the role "Author". What am I doing wrong?

Sigil, nor the epub specification in general will have much control over how the Kindle App chooses to display metadata (after conversion to a Kindle format). Someone may know a trick to make it work for the Kindle, but it's not really a Sigil -- nor an epub--question.

Well, I could open the Sigil-made epub in Calibre and generate an epub for Kindle, but I didn't think that would be necessary now that Kindle supports epub. I tried making the epub with Calibre first, and had lots of problems, which is why I switched to Sigil. Everything else is fine...just that one issue.

There is no ePub for Kindle. Amazon has supported sending ePubs to KDP for years and extended that to their Send to Kindle services. Kindle ereaders and apps have no native support for ePub. To sideload from calibre to a Kindle ereader, you would need to convert an epub to KF8/azw3, mobi or KFX.
