confused about updating calibre

Not sure which thread to post this in

A day or so ago I installed the latest version of calibre 6.19.1 and have been using it. This morning a popup appeared saying there was a newer version and did I want to install it. So I clicked on the box, assuming that would start a download.

Instead if brought up the browser page https://calibre-ebook.com/download_windows which seems to be still for 6.19.1 and no download was started. I went back to calibre and saw a note update 6.20.1 available, I clicked on that. then I clicked on get update and it took me back to the 6.19.1 page and didn't start a download.

I made a typo and it is too late to edit. The new version apparently available is 6.20.0.

Solved: Ii did the download by hand and it turned out to be the new version.

Calibre does not do an update in place.You always have to download the new version as you did.

The old version of the page may have been still in your browser cache. Ctrl+F5 will do a hard refresh and re-load it from server.
