ACSM KOBO Best Files for conversion
Sorry for the shotgun approach but I got caught by the new AZ KFX, read thru a number of posts in connected threads and for the life of me I can't find them again so I'm throwing this out there.
Saw threads related to Kobo as alternative. One spoke of download locations for the Kobo files and I learned about ACSM. I got ADE. Original post re ACSM plugin included a warning about using the plugin directly may cause issues with Adobe sign in. I thought I read when you use ADE it actually retrieved the epub file linked to the ACSM which could then be converted with deDRM. I can find the ACSM files in the ADE Digital Editions folder but can't find any epub files. So - does ADE actually download an epub document that can be converted or am I being overly paranoid about using the plugin. Thanks in advance. |

You don't need ADE or having it download the epub for an ACSM once you have the info for the plugin. If setup correctly, opening the .acsm file with Calibre will download the epub, which can be then converted to azw3 for USB transfer.

But the DeDRM 10.0.3 plugin for Calibre will need to be installed (and configured) in order to remove the DRM.

I'd assumed that the OP was already using DeDRM with K4PC downloads, but maybe the ACSM plugin is needed. I forget what I did to make ACSM files work. I certainly don't have ADE installed on my current PC or laptop. https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=341975 Last edited by Quoth; 05-04-2023 at 05:27 AM. |
