"Details" html code
I store my book reviews in a separate library with empty books. I leave my reviews in the comments section. Half (or more) of the review is usually a synopsis and can range anywhere from 1 paragraph to 3 pages. When I post online I can hide all of that text using the <details> blah, blah </details> code and people can click to show it if they want to.
When I put in the <details> code in the html view of the comments, it gets stripped out and doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong or putting it in the wrong place? If you need an example, I can provide one as needed. Thanks for any input. |

The HTML longtext editor tends to remove unused and 'invalid' stuff.
Switching a cusotm column to plain-text prevents this, but obviously then it's all code and doesn't work for the default comments. Job Spy's Notes Viewer has Markdown support, if you're willing to consider using that and a custom column. Last edited by ownedbycats; 04-22-2023 at 08:05 PM. |

The 'Comments/Long Text' editor is what's known in-the-trade as a Rich Text Editor, which approximates, at a functional level, to what you get from Microsoft's Wordpad.

One way to get around the limitation of the HTML editor is use/define the column formatting to Markdown, which allows HTML formatting and display without interference/modification from the editor.
