I know that you can copy the sort author to the author.
Is there also a possibility to swap back?

One at a time in the Edit Metadata (single) dialog:


In the Manage authors dialog (in Tag browser, right click on Authors), one at a time or all authors. Note that you can use Virtual libraries to operate on a subset of authors.


As @mbovenka said, in the Quality Check plugin. This method operates on a selection of books. It doesn't copy the author sort to the author. Instead it guesses where the comma should go. For example, I want the author sort of the name "Fred van der Linden" to be "van der Linden, Fred". Quality check produces "Linden, Fred van der".

Edit: if you want to remove the comma from authors in bulk then Quality Check is probably the best way.

That's not a guess, that's how the name is supposed to be sorted. At least in Dutch. It sorts under L, not V, as your version would. Like my own name, Marco van den Bovenkamp, is sorted under B, as 'Bovenkamp, Marco van den'.

But you can of course do whatever you like and follow the Flemish Belgians (they do it like that) in the privacy of your own library
