RIM invents drop-resistant LCD display
![]() A display for a handheld computing device that includes a display panel; a display circuit board carrying display electronics for the display panel; a cover assembly securing the display panel to the display circuit board; and a resilient layer adhered to the display circuit board for securing the display to the computing device. It's probably only a matter of days before NTP is going to accuse RIM of infringing yet another of their patents. |

Yeah, but I feel no sympathy for RIM, they also were litigous, suing Palmsource and a bunch of other companies (most of which eventually bought licenses from RIM). So when NTP sued and won, it almost feels like karma. Although I do hate those companies that do nothing but try to monetize patents (especially if they really invent it but bought it for the cheap), companies like SCO, NTP, Rambus, Forgent (I am not sure of its name, but it claims Jpeg patent), and that one who sued Microsoft and won over IE patents...
Ooops, off topic. The drop-resistant LCD if it really works, have a huge market, personally, I have 3 PDA with broken screens, though I would acknowledge those the broken screens turns out to be a blessing, as it is a good reason to upgrade... ![]() |
