Display composite columns with comments in book details
Available in calibre source: You can now specify that the output of a composite column (column built from other columns) be displayed on the right-hand side in book details along with comments. Reason: the right side is usually wider, giving more room to display the column data. It is particularly useful if the template generates html containing complex text, tables, lists, and links.
The template must produce plain text or HTML. The option is not available for "Columns built from other columns, behaves like tags". |

Composite is the name of the columntype in the db and I think in general it's a database term.

Indeed it is a database term, been around since Peter Chen developed ER modelling in the 1970s. BTW: Chen says he was inspired by Bachmann's work - Codd came later.
Historically, composite attribute (column) has had a very specific meaning - a grouping of simple columns (attributes) into an composite attribute, classic example is an address = house no + street + suburb + postcode; like a composite materai is a substance made up of various simple materials - e.g. concrete = cement + sand + gravel + water. Wouldn't be surprised if it's been redefined since. Last edited by BetterRed; 03-08-2023 at 01:08 AM. |
