Is there a way to get Page Numbers with EPUBs sent via email?

Hello all, I was wondering if it’s now possible to get page numbers, instead of Location number for epub files sent to Kindle via email?

Send to email (with sync) is essential for me as I read on multiple devices.

If it can’t be done then no worries.

Probably, but it might be more work than is worth.

calibre has a plugin to generate artificial page numbers but amazon probaly doesn't make an apnx file when it converts or send it to your devices. You would have to generate the apnx file yourself and put it on every device.

Which epub version exactly does Amazon support for send to kindle? Does it work with epub3 page numbers, or does the conversion simply ignore it?

That won't work for OP, as syncing is more important than page numbers.

I have many ereaders, but day to day, I only use the 8″ Sage or a sort of generic pocket one, occasionally the phone.
It's dead easy to keep same content on all with Calibre.
A "cloud" sync needs two slow Internet operations.
I can remember a few words of last read use search faster than WiFi (or mobile data, which I rarely have). Two of my more portable ereaders are USB only, no WiFi.

The vendors hype sync because it gives them info. Really you don't need it.

Also if you only use Kobo, Calibre can sync when you add content via USB (Kobo Utilities).

But I had no difficulty using AZw3 on PW3 and epub on Bluefire on the phone.

However I think page numbers are worthless on ebooks except on textbooks to find page nn referenced by a tutorial based on a particular paper edition.

So sync is more valuable than page numbers, though not as important as people think.

To me, the ability to sync is one of the MOST important things. The other is to be able to buy a book from anywhere and send it to the cloud (I know, I know, you *hates* the cloud...) where I can then download to any of my Kindles, phones, or tablets...and then sync my reading position from one device to another.

Page numbers mean nothing to me, although I do recognize that to others they are one of the most important things.

Neither page numbers nor sync matter to me, but certainly for people that want sync, then that's more important than page numbers.

Certainly everyone has different priorities.
