Custom Cover Image Only Blurry in Book Details Panel

Hello,

I'm having a little issue regarding the resolution and colour saturation of the custom cover images in my epub's metadata. When I generate a custom cover image, the colours are exactly as I want and the resolution is also perfect. But after I click out of it and view the cover image in the side right panel of the "Book Details", the colours and text seem very flat and just off (different to how it appeared in the "Edit Metadata" function) and the resolution is also extremely blurry...

Please refer to Image 1 to see how it originally appeared in the "Edit Metadata" as I wanted it to. And see Image 2 for how it ends up looking as in the Book Details right panel. (But actually it seems both images are blurry after uploading here so that's not a very good reference, please ignore...)

To circumvent this, I had already tried to go to Preferences and modified a tweak to maximum for "The maximum width and height for covers saved in the Calibre Library", but nothing changed... If there's anyway at all to go around this, then please do advise me! Thank you!

Its a thumbnail. Your video system driver may affect the shrinkage.
BTW Enlarging a small source make it worse. Shrinking removes bits. Enlarging guesses how to fill the gaps
