Where to find kindle books on android kindle app?

Sorry if this is in wrong forum but I found the amount of forums so confusing I have no idea where this post should be so please move it if it's in the wrong place.

I brought a book on amazon, an e-book. It was published in 2011 so shouldn't have any of those new drm problems people have been having.

I'm just trying to get the file of the book I downloaded, so I can actually own what I brought not just borrow it from amazon.

I've looked in /data/com.amazon.kindle/files but found nothing there. No KFX files.

Can anyone help me out on where to find the books I downloaded to device? I made sure not to have wifi connected and the book still works so it's on there somewhere.

It doesn't matter when it was published. The DRM is applied when you downloaded it not when it was published.

Oh damn I didn't know that. I'm sure I read someone saying differently but must of been wrong. So there's no way I can get the book off my tablet? I just want to transfer it to my kindle but I don't want to register my kindle or connect it to the internet.

The change related to when a book was published only applies to older versions of the Kindle for PC/Mac app. Those apps can no longer access books published since the beginning of this year. No other apps or devices are affected by that change.

I do not know why you cannot locate the files on your device. Perhaps they are going to an alternate location on an SD card. But even if you find them you won't be able to use them. The Kindle for Android app downloads books in KFX format with DRM that is unbreakable so far. (Although it may be possible to do something if you install a very old version of that app. See the recent posts in the thread Amazon and DRM changes.)
