search/replace question
How can I find/remove a tag if it is comprised of a word/words that are included within other tags?
How do I remove a single tag "read" when I have "to-be-read", "a-read-2022", "read-for-fun". I don't want to remove "read" from those tags. Just the single tag on it's own. I have the same problem with other tags. Basically, Goodreads mixes in the exclusive shelves with the regular bookshelves in it's export csv. I would like to set up a find/replace chain that removes those tags from the column without ha having to do it manually. Also, is there a way of removing multiple different tags in a column in one go? |

I find the best way to remove multiple tags from a book is: highlight the Tags cell and press Shift+F2, select the Tags you don't want on the RHS list, click the left arrow in the middle, click OK. BR |

Regex anchors are your friend. ^ for beginning, $ for end. See screenshots.
In your case, you'll want to search ^read$ |

I couldn't do the one above because the tags would be "read" but I don't want to get rid of "to-be-read" or "to-read" and be left with "to-be-" and "to-" - Ive had that happen.
As far as the column manager, i have done that and am doing that. Actually, I found a roundabout way to fix it. I moved all the tags in the column (current bookshelves) into the tag column, moved the tags into a temporary "holding tags" column and used the tag mapper to fix the tags. Then I move them back to the current bookshelves column and the tags back to where they belong. I have had to do this with all my tags columns that I want to quickly change tags. Moving them into the tags column and using tag mapper, then moving them back. Thanks! |

If you use anchors correctly, it will only match 'read' exactly. See screenshit.
