Question No 32-Bit Version?

I'm running Calibre 5.44 on a 32-bit Windows 10 Home laptop. Calibre tells me that there is an upgrade to version 6.11.0 but when I go to the web page (by clicking the link provided) I find there's only a 64-bit version available.

Are 32-bit machines no longer supported? Or am I missing something and, if so, what please?

No, only 64bit versions are available for V6 onwards due to the underlying toolkit (QT) only being available as 64bit.

Note some 64 bit Atoms can run 64 bit Linux but no support for 64 bit windows, either due to lack of RAM (some Atoms don't have the addressing pins!) or other reasons. Some have 32 bit EFI, which prevents 64 bit Windows install and makes 64 bit Linux install difficult (you need to edit the Live USB stick installer to have 32 bit boot files) unless the BIOS can be set to Legacy and disk partitions erased.

The 32 bit Win10 was only pre-installed on 64 bit CPUs unsuitable for 64 bit Win10.

So 5.44 is maybe last version for 32 bit Win 10.

My processor is a 32-bit Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU T4200 @ 2.00GHz running Windows 10 Home, so from what georgemk said I doubt it'll run anything above the last v5.x

But thanks for trying :-)

No, 5.44 is last 32 bit version. Also Mint 19.3 is one of the last 32 bit Linux.
I think you need to start saving for a replacement laptop/PC. Even an old i3 with 4G RAM and no gpu would work for 64 bit Linux, but maybe 8G RAM and i5 or i7 (minimum) for Windows 10. Not sure if Win11 runs without a suitable TPM.
