Addressing file corruption after yanking the cable too soon [ver. 2022.01]

I've been using KOreader for a while now with no issues so far. Great piece of software.

I unfortunately accidentally yanked the cable before the files had been properly copied to my Kobo Forma. KOReader still works but there seems to be phantom files. For instance, a few CBZ files and folders appear in File Explorer when looking at the Kobo file structure but don't appear in the Kobo reader library page on the device while it is in use. I've tried deleting and copying back but it doesn't seem to work. Adding other files is fine.

Is there anything I can do here to remediate file corruption?

Assuming we were talking about documents all along, how were the files transferred (i.e., in Nickel or KOReader?).

Nickel won't even look for new files unless it's the one doing the UBSMS session (unless you ask it nicely, via NickelMenu).

To clarify, I transferred a bunch of CBZ manga files through the UBSMS session on KOReader. I haven't used Nickel in months. I also created a folder named after the manga in question from Windows Explorer.

Now the folder won't appear and neither will some of the files as viewed from KOReader once the UBSMS sessions is terminated. But they exist in the filesystem as viewed in Explorer. I am able to add other CBZ or epub files just fine with drag and drop and they appear successfully.

Yes, the point is, you should update to the latest (stable) version first, try it out there and confirm/deny that the issue is still there. Then we can talk

Oh, thought you were talking about Nickel's library view (as we... don't have a library view ^^).

So, what *exactly* do you see in Explorer (ideally, I'd prefer a full recursive command line listing, but, barring that, a screenshot would be helpful, assuming your Explorer is setup to show file extensions).

I managed to solve the problem! ...which was my poor eyesight and lack of attention to detail as some of the manga were in fact CBR as opposed to CBZ. No idea why they used different formats for random elements in the same series but at least I can now simply read them on Nickel.

And I must say this little episode was not a complete waste of time in the end as I am now running the latest version of KOReader
