Ripping epub apart

Good hello!
Running Calibre 6.11 on macOS Ventura... trying to import a file of epubs, but it seems to be ripping these apart, and adding separate files of the epubs... not sure why or what I may have done...

Any assistance you can provide would be appreciated.

EPUB is a singular file. It contains XML/HTML files that should not trigger an unpack.

How are you adding?

Because ePub is a zip file, MacOS is treating it as such. What has to be done is find the option to stop auto-decompressing zip files.

The epubs appear intact, as they have already been downloaded and in a file… the decompressing appears to be within calibre, as I get a lot of XML/HTML files in my library

calibre never decompresses an EPUB. Most likely your epubs are from ibooks which stores them as folders with a name ending in .epub instead of actual files.

"a file of ePubs" sounds more like a zip file
