Error adding ebooks to calibre

Hi,
I have been using calibre for a little while, still pretty new. I havnt had any issues so far, until now.
My books are mobi/kindle format. All of them are the same format. Some of the books I have saved on my computer are uploaded to calibre already with no problems, and others that are the same format are all of a sudden not working. I tried another one that I already uploaded to calibre that worked and now its not working.
I use windows. I read on a few old forum post that it was a zip problem, but they were all mac users with advice for ibooks and mac. Any insight would be greatly appreciated :-)

trying copying that file out of one drive into a local folder and then adding it.

Thank you, yes I did try that last night but it didnt work unfortunately

Could this be a temp file cleaner being aggressive?

Where is your calibre library folder located?

Adding a book takes a few seconds I cant see any temp file cleaner being that aggressive.

Perhaps if it blocked anything from going into the temp folder to begin with? I once set all of D:\Temporary\ to read-only to test something (unrelated to Calibre), and since I use D:\Temporary\Calibre\temp\ for the temp folder it resulted in errors until I remembered to unset it.

The error in the OPs post indicates copy between opened file descriptors is failing. This means that after the files were successfuly opened, the kernel is failing to copy between the files. The only way that can happen is buggy file system drivers or some third party software interfering. Which is why I am enquiring about the location of the file being added and the calibre library.

Some devices, like the Kindle (1/2/DX), do not allow you to access port 8080 (the default port on which the content server runs). In that case, change the port in the calibre Preferences to 80.

I was having the same problem (kind of, the same warning message but in the details it said "Failed to read metadata from the file: " instead) also with a mobi file, then I realized that the file name was too long, the book had a huge subtitle, I shortened it leaving just title and author and Calibre was able to add the book without any problems.
