SleepCovers and connecting to device
For Christmas, I got a third-party SleepCover for my Libra H2O. (kwmobile, for anyone interested.)
However, if I connect the USB cable while the cover is closed, the popup to offer to connect to the computer doesn't appear when I open it. NickelMenu has the 'USB connection' option, but I tried it a while ago and ended up uninstalling it for reasons I fail to remember. I'm willing to try again, but are there any other options? |

After trying NM again, I remember why I uninstalled it: because it's possible to run force_usb_connection when the Kobo isn't connected and result in it getting stuck

Solved! I added this to nickelmenu config:
Code:
menu_item : main : Toggle Autoconnect : nickel_setting: toggle : auto_usb_gadget |

It's a nice cover! the only issue I have so far is that I had to get the neighbour to help me put it on.

Yup. It also makes the 'taking it into a bubble bath' issue a bit moot, as the cover's some sort of cloth/leather and probably not too water-resistent.
btw, @JSWolf: I decided to keep the 'connect to device' on my NickelMenu as it's useful when importing new books. But in case of mishaps, do you know how to pull a Kobo out of a 'connected and charging' state when it actually isn't? |

I never take it out, it gets thrown in my bag without much care. The back is pretty much as good as new. On the front, you can see some signs of weariness but nothing much. I've been using kwmobile cases for years now, and I've always been pretty pleased with them ![]() |

That's not too bad. In contrast, I bought a Moko cover for my Aura ONE in 2019 and the spine is pretty threadbare, no doubt due to throwing it in my gym bag. That cover replaced an identical Moko cover that the edging had started to come away from, hm not actually a glowing recommendation is it?
