Epub ooops
Now I thought I had it all, eureca and all but this is not entirely so. My problem, small problem, I guess (I hope): When the epub file gets generated all the special html codes (like —» and so on) are eaten up i.e. are totally ignored (there is not even a blank showing up).
I guess this may have something to do with the &..; format as all these signs are gobbled up. Please help! I got v.122 of Calibre. Last edited by mtravellerh; 12-30-2008 at 09:05 PM. |

In all of them (ADE, yours, Ipod Touch=Stanza). It happens only for those made with 122, though

Pedantry note: if you're writing the HTML you're using yourself, you should avoid the use of symbolic character entity references. They're only technically valid if the referencing document uses a DOCTYPE declaration to specify a DTD which defines them. Doing that means that the document is only technically valid if it exactly conforms to the DTD. That in turn requires not using any attributes or elements not explicitly allowed by the DTD, such as any SVG or OPS 2 inline XML islands.

I didn't want those special characters to appear in my posting, but really wanted to type the code that has disappeared. So no -- but —, okay?
