Koreader map dictionary search to button
I know this device is ancient, but I still use it and even replaced the battery this year.
As expected, koreader's performance is far from fast on the DX. Navigating the menus is painfully slow. Can I make a keyboard button into a hotkey to pop up the "search dictionary" dialog? I see in koreader/fronteend/kindle/event_map_keyboard.lua various lines of the form: [number representing button] = "eventname" where "eventname" is things like "Menu", "Home", "Left", etc. Is there an eventname to pop up the dictionary search dialog? If no, how about just the dictionary menu? |

It's actually a code = key keymap, this doesn't actually directly map to KOReader Events.
So, that's a no, not this way at least. There's no built-in way to do that for keys like you can for gestures via the Gesture Manager. But, if such an action already exists in Gesture Manager, you might be able to do so relatively trivially with a user patch. If it doesn't exist in gesture Manager, you might be able to do so slightly less trivially via an user patch ![]() I'm not in a position to check the code for any of these assumptions right now. |
