No, uuid stands for 'universally unique identifier.' (guid is 'globally unique identifier.') They're always in a 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000 format, as seen there.

Not sure on difference between Universal and Global as we only publish on one Globe. So relates to document and not user.

They're the same thing, as far as I know. (RFC 2144 seems to agree.) I usually use GUID.
