Does the Libre 2 have the same conectivety issues as Kindle..??

So there I was this morning, working on my kindle while it literally vanished before my eyes. One second file explorer sees it, the next it's gone. And we're talking brand new out of the box too... so fed up. Seems this is a common issue, for years, with no real fix. So I'm bloody well done.

Does the Kobo suffer from that too..??

I've had my Kobo Lira 2 for a few months, have loaded it up, both from Calibre and side-loading from just plugging it in.

I haven't had any problems, other than the Libra not realizing it's plugged into the computer a few times. Unplugging and plugging the cable back in solved it. It also may be that I jumped the gun, because I'm used to my other stuff working a lot faster.

I've given up putting anything new on my Kindle. I can't even depend on it downloading books from Amazon that I send to it, specifically.

Wait a minute. My Kobo does not vanish before my eyes. And I am pretty sure that the Kindle does not, as well. What do you actually mean?

I posted in the OP's other thread...is it a Kindle e-ink or a Fire tablet that is not showing correctly in File Explorer?

Ah, well, Fire was stupidly called Kindle Fire for a while, but really Android, so MTP,. which is a bit more tricky.

The Fire tablets have a USB setting that has to be enabled, which could be the issue. Even though the Fires only had the Kindle label for the very first one, in my experience, they are still called Kindles by the vast majority of users.

Literally exactly what I said. Was looking at the word "Kindle" in file explorer and it disappeared. And alas, it never showed in the other two computers in the house.

And this is a brand new Paperwhite, not in my possession for even 24hrs.

The only time I've seen that happen with a Kindle was with a PW4 when a power glitch caused the computer to reboot while sending ebooks to the Kindle. A reconnect and a quick check with Nirsoft's USBDeview showed a connected unknown USB device with a device descriptor request failed message. After removing that device and reconnecting, I haven't seen an issue that swapping cables didn't fix.

I suppose I could get the same effect by removing the USB cable in the middle of a file transfer but prefer to safely eject and avoid potential issues.
