New Leaf 2 update

This one is small - 42.5 MB - and dated 24 November. To be more precise, it is 2022-11-24_09-32_3.3.1_a3d24621e.

The description is:

Add side key direction exchange function
Add APP side key function settings (page turning key \ volume key)

If I'm not mistaken, the last (much larger) update was for a similar thing. This must be to fix a few bugs. My update extractor won't work on this file as it doesn't have the usual components such as boot.img, system.img, and so on. I was only curious as to what was in the update file. Probably not much more than framework.jar!

Incremental updates could complicate things. Remember to write down the URL of the last full update.

Onyx rolls out updates bit by bit to their customers, so there's no telling when you'll see it. I don't have a link to this update, unfortunately. I'm thinking that it isn't anything that I might want or need anyway, since it appears to be about the firmware interface with the physical buttons.

In any case, I haven't updated to this one yet and probably won't.

Yes, mine is sealed like that too. Don't know yet if I should send it back or they are all like that...

This update fixes auto orientation in KoReader. (I removed NeoReader immediately so I can't test)
The bottom button remains page-back and the top button page-up if you turn the device upside down.
