[Recommended Software] A small utility to make system panel more useful
After Android 7, it's possible to customize icons on system panel to make it more personal and useful on ONYX BOOX devices. I wrote a small utility (less than 100kb) to provide several useful feature on it, including following features:
The source code repo is at Github. Here the link to download apk. After installing it, you can click on right top Edit button to drag the icons you need to top area. ![]() ![]() The icons are very self-explanatory. Last edited by Daniel Kao; 05-29-2022 at 05:53 AM. |

Wow, that’s great! A separate thanks for dedicated left and right rotation buttons. One extra window less

Thanks for the program! It's possible to add commands "Back", "Home" and "FrontLight on/off"? Last edited by kaznelson; 05-30-2022 at 07:27 AM. |

This app is great! It finally allowed to remove bottom swipe gestures and that in turn solved poor responsiveness of the bottom edge when tapping. For example, in KOReader’s bottom tabs
Thank you very much Daniel Kao! |

@Daniel Kao
I long-tapped an icon from Quick Rotate today and it brought me to QR's Android settings. Is there a way that you can make these long-taps more useful? One particular example is: make a new Wi-Fi toggle icon and make its long-tap to bring Android's Wi-Fi settings. Currently Onyx devices bring the Onyx Wi-Fi settings, and since I disabled ALL Onyx stuff, my Wi-Fi long-tap is now inactive. I'd appreciate if you could fix that for me ![]() The same idea for Bluetooth, maybe. Another example is for rotation button: long-tap on any of four directions that brings all four options. Another one: long-tapping screenshot starts video recording (don't know how easy is this, but Onyx new firmwares have this feature via their own icon. However with your implementation we could save one more button. |
