Libra 2 Sync Nag?

I've had Wi-Fi disabled for over a month, since I usually load books over USB, and I was surprised this week to see a pop-up window asking me if I "had time to sync". Is there a timer that triggers sync nags periodically, or are there particular actions that can set it off? Has anyone else seen such a nag prompt?

You did untick the automatic Update/Sync option? If that's on (and I never have it on) it may nag?

I've never seen that nag, and I never sync. I do use Dropbox on my Sage occasionally, but my Libra is always offline. Automatic sync is disabled on both. No sideloaded mode on either (just never bothered with it).

I do have lots of Kobo purchases, but they've all been archived, as I sideload everything.

I've never seen the nag.

I keep WiFi off except when updating KOReader. I've never synced on my Libra 2.

Yes, I've always had that option disabled. If it happens again, I may switch to sideload mode to see if that makes it stop.

Weird. I wonder why you get the nag, but others don't? I've used a Kobo for more than 3 years by now, and I don't remember ever seeing such a nag (if I did, it must have been so seldom that I don't remember it).

Yes, it's odd. I did buy one book on Kobo.com that I have not archived or synced to the reader; however, Wi-Fi has never been enabled since I bought the book, so there should be no way for the Libra to know that I have a book ready to be downloaded, unless it enabled Wi-Fi without my permission in order to phone home at some point. Since the automatic sync option is disabled, that shouldn't have happened (and if it had, the book should be available on the reader, and it's not).

As my experience goes, Kobo devices never turn on wifi by themselves. I sometimes skip firmware updates and so far no update has happened without my knowledge.

Even my Kindles never phoned home when wifi was off (I know for the same reason, none of them updated without my permission.)

Except some FW on Sage & Elipsa had a bug were when you turned on Bluetooth the WiFi was turned on. But you could go at once and turn WiFi off again without affecting it.
One or more FW even had a bug where looking at Bluetooth state turned WiFi on!
