Using path in templates

Hello, I added a custom column displaying the book path using the template {path}.

It works well for almost all books, but for some reason I get "TEMPLATE ERROR Value: unknown field path" for the first book in the list.

Then, more strangely, I click on the error value, the Edit Template dialog pops up, and then after I click OK (changing nothing in the template), the problem goes away and the book path is displayed correctly.

But then sometime, under circumstances which I haven't exactly identified (maybe after editing the values of other book fields through the library view), the problems comes back and the same error value is displayed in the path column.

Can someone please shed some light into why this happens and how to fix this?

Maybe what is discussed in post 6 (symptoms) & post 7 (cause) in this thread ==>> Template tester: "can be used only in the GUI"?
