Amazon has discontinued lending feature

As of August 2022, Amazon has now discontinued the lending feature where the book owner could lend an ebook to someone for 14 days. There's no documentation - the word was from Customer Service.

Never used it. It was restricted to a pretty small selection of books, and you have to know someone who shares your interest in the book, and they need to at least have an Amazon account to read it. I'm surprised it took this long (15 years or more?) to get around to pulling the plug.

I used it regularly until a few years ago (my sis and cousin had both passed away). Occasionally lent to those in my online groups as well. The selection was actually pretty wide, but rarely included the most popular authors.
