Question Large image above book list

Hi,

This seems new. When I open Calibre there is now a large image which significantly reduces the space for the list of books.

How do I get rid of that image?

Thanks, Ed

Screenshot?

I don't see anything on my Calibre installation that could be described that way.

That might be the cover browser.
Un click the cover browser button (lower right: 3 vertical bars) or simply drag the bottom edge up until it so small, it closes

Thanks! That appears to be it.

Oddly, I don't have a three bar menus but I was able to get rid of the image by a right click/drag at the top of the book list.

Thanks so much for your help.

It'll be under the Layout button on the status line, next to the Jobs button. The Layout button can be replaced by an array of panel specific buttons by checking the Preferences->Look and Feel->Show layout buttons in the status bar.

And, as it seems you discovered, the Covers, Details, and Tags panels can be gotten rid of by dragging their drag handles to the nearest edge.

Aaaand, there are keyboard shortcuts to toggle (show/hide) Search, Tags, Details, Covers, List/Grid and Quickview ==>> Keyboard shortcuts

Cool! Thank you. I learned a lot.

I've been using Calibre for many years and thought I was a pro; but realize I'm just a tyro.

BTW I can't find the toggle to replace the Layout button with the hamburg icon where you indicated. Not in the current version at least. Could it have moved?

Thanks again,

Ed
