The end of sentences are clipped off (Kobo)

I've downloaded a handful of epub ebooks from gutenberg.org. I manage them in the Calibre software. I convert them to kepub and store them on my Kobo. They are unreadable because they clip off the end of each sentence. Each page is essentially cropped. Adjusting the margins through Kobo settings has no effect. Please help. I'll attach an image below.

We can't analyze the problem from an image of the display. Wee need the actual code of the book.

If this happens with books out of copyright, why not give a link to it? Or at least a title and author?

Download Kindle version from Gutenberg.
Convert to epub using Calibre with:
Justify (won't break headings)
Smarten punctuation
Remove space between paragraphs & put 1.4em first line indent (doesn't breake headings).
In Styles on all ebooks I convert I put line-height in Remove CSS as that should never be anywhere in any ebook.

If it's still bad open epub in Calibre editor and look CSS for body paragraphs. Beware of "inherit" in CSS.

Post link to Gutenberg page with all the formats here.

I've attached a modified version of Roughing it in the Bush along with two images from the Introduction to the Third edition page which do show the margins changing with the slider.. Please give it a try and let me know how it looks.

A <pre> tag can cause text to run off the screen.. have a look for any of those using the Calibre editor. Also, you can use the live CSS to see what's going on if it's not because of <pre>.
