Post Genres are not the same on Calibre and on e-reader

Hello everyone,

I spend hours on Calibre arranging book genres, authors, etc. And when I switch to the e-reader, I realize that some books have kept their original genre/author.
Example: a book was categorized as Romance, I changed it to Historical Romance with Calibre. On the e-reader, it's still Romance, on Calibre everything is good! I'm new on Calibre, maybe I missed something?

Do you have a solution?
Thank you and have a nice day!

In Calibre, under Preferences > Sending Books to Devices (under Import/Export) check your Metadata Management setting at the top. It should be set to Automatic.

EDIT: Also, you might have to connect your ereader to Calibre twice for the metadata/cover to fully sync. /EDIT

If that doesn't help, you could try the Kobo Utilities plugin:

https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=215339

You can add that by right-clicking on Calibre's Preferences button, choosing "Get plugins to enhance Calibre" and searching for it.

Its option to try would be "Update ToC for Selected Books."

The OP is using a Vivlio ereader which seems to be a re-brand of Pocketbook's ereaders. Posting in the Pocketbook forum might be a useful hint.

One question is if the OP removed the book from his Vivlio and then resent it after modifying the metadata.
