Is there a plugin to add viewer tabs for different books?
Each opened epub opens in a separate window, which is a bit awkward when having multiple open at once.
I'd much prefer to have them open as tabs instead (like in a browser), but it looks like there's no option for that in calibre by default, at least that I can find. So is there a plugin that can do this? |

No, unfortunately there is currently no browser-style viewer tab plugin.

Oh, that's a shame. Guess I'll have to try converting things to PDF and reading them in Firefox then (Calibre can open them in that, right?).

I use Sumatra as a secondary viewer, and there's an option to enable tabs (actually I think that's default on initial setup)
BTW, I wanted to have Sumatra open any title by a single shortcut key on Calibre, but the Open With plugin needs distinct shortcut keys for each format. ![]() |

I don't use it myself, but if you run the Calibre Content server, you can also open multiple tabs in your browser to the Content server and open multiple books in tabs that way.

Before MS ditched its Edge EPUB viewer I used it as my default EPUB Viewer. From within calibre via its Open With tool using this shim ==>> https://www.emmet-gray.com/Articles/EdgeLaunch.html
It gave me a dedicated tabbed EPUB reader without having to run the Calibre Server, which meant it didn't interfere with my normal web browsing activities where I use Firefox. I tried but failed to achieve something similar with an Edge EPUB reader add-on, but I didn't try very hard. Might be possible with an EPUB reader add-on for a different browser such as Chrome. BR |
