Where does the Birth date get stored? Logic says this is an Author (table) item.
But... There are no provisions for custom columns in any place but the main GUI. That means, you need to add it (#birthdate) to the Library view for EVERY book by the author . (The is because this offends my sense of doing a manageable RDB data)And none of this is auto-magic. |

You might be able to do this with the Entity Manager plugin. It advertises being able to add extra data to entities like authors. I have never used it so I don't know exactly what it does and can do, for example searching and sorting on entity data.

I maintain a separate Authors library (one book per author), it contains custom columns for date of birth, place of birth, date of death, place of death, cause of death, links to wikipedia page, author site, publisher site, obits, etc. I maintain this manually, i.e. no downloading.
In the Author link field in my Books library, I put a calibre://show-book/ URL to the Author book in my Authors library In the Author link field in my Authors library I put a calibre://search/ URL for the Author in my Books library. The show-book and search URL's can be obtained via the Copy option in the Book details panel context menus. See ==>> The calibre:// URL scheme BR Last edited by BetterRed; 08-31-2022 at 09:52 PM. |
