Easier navigation for elders

Hey guys, I have purchased Basic Lux 2 for my grandma and she LOVES reading, but controlling the device is simply out of reach, tried everything, it is not working. Getting to the end of the book means end of the reading, she can't get to next one. Tried assigning double-click on the power button to show the menu where the middle option is the favorites, but that didnt work either, I need something extremely simple - next page button at the end of the book to just go to the next book. But no matter how I've tried, I can't make this to work. I have even installed KOReader in a desperate attempt to make something simpler, but alas, it is much harder to navigate actually.
Is there a possibility I'm missing?

If this is a series, you could combines the books into one. As for going from the end of one book into the next. it's not going to happen. That's not how Readers work.

With a Pocketbook, how easy is it to bring up a list in order of recent?

Here' s the manual : https://manuals.plus/pocketbook/pock...#axzz7bxCd3KPA

I have a PB Touch HD3 and I go to Homepage- Library. In Library I can make collections, authors, or series. Etc.
But when a book is finished, I go to Home- Library to choose a new book. It' s simple on my device. 🙂

We don't really know what the problem is here. Is the device malfunctioning (some keys don't work), or is grandma only able to press the next button? Giving more details might draw more useful responses.

What I liked about Sony Readers is that I was able to connect to my mother's laptop and she'd plug in the Sony and I was able to manage it with Calibre (collections).

You can do that with Calibre and Kobo. You can manage Collections and Series easily and remotely.

I've got a Basic Lux 3 and I can understand how your grandma would have trouble clicking the middle button the 4 (5?) way control and navigating to the right choice. It's kind of small and it's pretty easy to hit the sides instead of the middle. A touch screen might have been better (but I understand that can also cause issues).

Since your grandma probably never uses the long press on the forward or backward keys (defaults to page forward or back by 10 pages) I think long press on either (or both) of these keys might be easier than double clicking the power button.

I've now set up both of my forward and backward long press to go home or exit (both seem to do the same thing).

Since your grandma will be in a book, go to Settings > Personalize > Key Mapping > EPUB, FB2 and Others > Backward and/or Forward Hold (on the second page of options) > System (all the way on the bottom) > Main Menu (or Exit, which seems to do the same thing from the book anyhow). Now when your grandma pushes and holds either key she'll return to the Main Menu.

It might be worth a try at any rate.

Thanks for the replies and sorry for the late one but I was on the move
So... what we think it is simple, it is extremely difficult for her, long story she cant manage the front page, can't cope with the most basic navigation of picking the next book and because that middle button thingy is very easy to misclick, any popup of any sort and she is done for. But you have actually given me the greatest EVER answer - combine all books into one giant freaking book!!! She does not care to pick a book, just that there is one to read, so next, next next... when the next button wears down will remap to something else and moving forward
Thanks all, love you <3
