Calibre 6 Editor Crashes under W11

Under W11, after a period of use, the editor simply crashes with no message.

One thing that seems to happen quite often, but I can't reliably reproduce it, it that if you open a spelling check window, and drag it, the editor will crash. But then i can try 20 more times, and it doesn't happen.

Sorry i can't give more info. But I just thought I'd mention it. At the moment, I'm just making sure I save my work regularly!

Are you using a laptop with dual graphic chips? If so, switch witch graphics chipset Calibre is running with to the other one. Also, are you running the latest Calibre (as on now) which is 6.2.1?

Try updating your GPU drivers, the editor preview panel uses a browser which needs relatively up-to-date gpu drivers.

Hi, I'm using a PC, OK I'll try updating the Intel driver to DCH, it's currently on 27.20.100.8190 so that could well be it. Cheers.

Updated the driver to 31.0.101.2111 dated 19/07/2022
I used the editor for 3 hours this afternoon with no problem
Then used the spell check, tried to drag the window, and boom
You can feel it's going to crash, because it gets "sticky" when you drag the window and then stops, before Calibre disappears
Well, it happened 3 times in a row, now it stopped happening again and I can't repeat it
Very strange
Maybe it will happen to someone else with more time than me to debug it!

@Stevex - I know it'll be of little comfort, but…

I use the spell checker, and I often drag its window around so that I can look at the original manuscript in Word, I sometimes force it to Stay on Top - never had a problem.
