Device: PocketBook InkPad 3
InkPad 3 not detecting microSD card

I own an InkPad 3, the internal storage onto which I have sideloaded Koreader.
I also own this particular microSD card which has a 256gb capacity.
I've heard about people formatting even 512gb cards to use on e-readers like this. The user manual suggests an upper limit of 128gb, but I'm hoping to have the card function as a 256gb card.
The card is recognized correctly by my computer (OS Win10) and even when inserted into my e-reader and read by my computer via USB it is still recognized as a 256gb USB device.
However, my e-reader will not recognize this card whatsoever, whether I attempt to use it via Koreader or its stock operating system. I've attempted to format the microSD card with the tools Rufus as well as GUIformat but neither tool seemed to help.

In short, the microSD card is fine, the e-reader is fine, but the e-reader will not recognize the microSD card.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I might resolve this problem and use my 256gb card as intended in this device, without having to reduce its capacity to 128gb?
I appreciate the time and patience of anyone who might offer any help, thank you.

Actually, I've found the solution.
Under the device's system settings there's a section called "Maintenance" and under this section there is an option to format your SD card. It worked and I can find no evidence immediately that it partitioned the drive.
If I could delete this thread I would but I hope it'll at least be helpful for anyone that might see it in the future!
