English-Romanian dictionary for KOReader on PocketBook

Could anyone please help me concerning a good English-Romanian dictionary for PocketBook?

I am using the KOReader application that accepts at least the stardict dictionary format.

I know that there is one for Kobo, here:

But I tried to convert the above kobo dictionary to stardict format and it does not work:

- I used the dictzip-decompile-windows.exe utility to obtain the .df file from the kobo dictionary.

- And then I have used pyglossary to transform the above .df file to a StarDict dictionary - which is accepted by KOReader.

However, once I put the obtained stardict dictionary on the pocketbook, the KOReader application detects it - but it does not work: all translation attempts will not work anymore, not even with other dictionaries that are also installed.

Help on this topic would be greatly apreciated. Thank you in advance!

Unfortunately, the dictionary you attached has only 988 words. It is not useful.

The dictionary that I mentioned in my initial post - the one available in Kobo format - has about 245.000 words!

In essence, I would need help in correctly converting that kobo dictionary to stardict format.

Or, another english-romanian dictionary that has a sufficient number of words (in the tens of thousands, at least).

I'm confused. Your OP says that PocketBook 'accepts Stardict'. I don't think that is the case. Where have you seen this? I'd love for this to be true.

What there is is a script to convert Stardict to something PBReader can use (it is actually a more general dictionary coversion toolz0:

It requires a Windows .exe from PocketBook, and some way to run Perl. And a 'language' folder for the target language (you'd have to find or create one).

I am planning to convert a couple of Russian-English Stardict but haven't gotten around to it.

What does accept Stardict is KOReader, which is not too hard to install on PocketBook.

The Stardict format can not be used from the PocketBook reading app. Only CoolReader or KOreader can use this format on a PocketBook device.

I think the OP is aware of this, as he is asking for an English-Romanian dictionary for KOReader on PocketBook.

It's odd. Penelope does indeed not convert the definitions of the keywords for this dictionary. If you unpack the zip-file and then unpack the html-files with the 7z e -y '*.html' command, you get nice unencrypted html-files that could be easily converted to csv-format or whatever. No idea why Penelope fails.

Are there better conversion utilities for Kobo dictionaries made since Penelope?
