I've had the same issues with Amazon.ca and haven't found any fixes other than trying the metadata download a couple of times waiting in between. The key there is the line reading:
Code:
mechanize._response.get_seek_wrapper_class.<locals >.httperror_seek_wrapper: HTTP Error 429: Too Many Requests |

Hello David!
Ok, thanks for the answer! It seems that it is actually a problem between Google and Amazon, respectively Amazon's restrictions. Because, when I enter "9783747105665" as search-sting on "amazon.de" it shows the requested book. When I enter "9783747105665 site:www.amazon.de" as search-string on google.com it shows "no results". So IMO it's not a calibre issue. Regards Shudushi |

Have you tried changing the Server to get data from to a different option such as Bing search cache, Amazon servers or choose server automatically to see if that allows you to download metadata?
