I'm having problem with news converted from epub to azw3. Not able to access menu.

Spoiler:

While epub books converted to azw3 works, this problem occurs only with fetched news converts. Is there a fix!

why are you converting epub to azw3? Or you mean you are having amazons email delivery convert it?

I'm not liking mobi. So I tried to change preferred output format to azw3, but still mobi is created cause periodicals support only mobi.

So instead I've selected epub as output and then convert it to azw3. (kfx output does something similar, azw3 conversion doesn't take much time unlike kfx.)

device doesn't hang but it just wont allow me to go back to home/library, like you can see from spoiler image.. the whole menu is blacked(white) out. I have to connect the device to pc and remove the azw3 to get to home. This problem occurs only with calibre fetched periodicals. With normal epub books converted to azw3, device doesn't show this problem.

There's a reason periodicals use mobi, stick to it. Trying to reverse engineer the bugs in amazons azw3 renderer to get it to work with periodicals is waaaay too much effort, at least for me, patches welcome.
