Sent to Kindle App - Won't Accept Epub

Like everyone else, when sending MOBI books to my Paperwhite, I've been getting the auto-reply from Amazon that starting August 1st that format won't be accepted.
I used the Amazon "Send to Kindle App" but it wont accept an EPUB book.
I can now email either to format to my Kindle.
Will this app be updated by 8/1 to accept EPUB books?

Hmmm... I suspect there will be an update before Aug. 1 that will accept epub and reject mobi. That's simply my opinion and worth exactly what you are paying for it.

Do you have a reference for August 1 being the start date for this?

The email I received from Amazon doesn't say exactly when in August. It says, "We wanted to let you know that starting August 2022, you’ll no longer be able to send MOBI (.mobi, .azw) files to your library."

You are right - the email just says "August 2022" - not a specific date.

I can email an EPUB book to my Paperwhite - I just can't use the "Send to Kindle" app, which seems odd

I didn't have auto-subscribe checked, and do now, I appreciate the replies.

They have not updated the apps yet to accept sending epubs, but if you go through whatever email is registered to your amazon account to use send to kindle , that way works.

That was my conclusion as well. Perhaps their messages/actions will be more specific in August.

Worked for me at 6:51 AM - via email using Outlook.
"Send to Kindle" app from my desktop still does not work, I still get "file type not supported"
My PW did not go thru any update. I keep my mine in airplane mode, not connected.

The message from Amazon says "August" for the cutoff, not any specific day as far as I know.

I was able to use the 'send to Kindle' function in Calibre to send an EPUB document a few moments ago (on 1 August). So it appears that Amazon has been able to do a relatively seamless transition to the new approach.

You can still sideload these files, correct? Just not send to kindle with the email system?

Correct. You can send mobi, KF8/azw3 and KFX from calibre to your USB connected Kindle eink reader.

Email to my PW is still functional on 8/2, they continue to send the non-specific "August" warning email.
